Omega-6 (AA)

What is it?

AA is formed from DGLA and needs the delta-5 desaturase (D-5-D) enzyme and adequate levels of vitamin C, B vitamins, magnesium, and zinc.

AA supplementation

Arachidonic acid is normally supplemented as a free fatty acid or by forming part of triglycerides, or through its precursor, linoleic acid.

Foods with AA

AA is found mainly in the following: organ meats, lamb and pork, egg yolks, tuna, salmon, eels.
