Between the ages of 45 and 55, approximately, most women enter a new stage in their lives: menopause.
This stage does not begin overnight, as three distinct phases exist: perimenopause (when the monthly period starts to change in volume and frequency), the menopause cycle (when twelve months have elapsed since the last menstrual period), and post-menopause (in the first four years, symptoms associated with menopause are normally present). This is a long process and can be complicated for the woman experiencing it, but it does not affect everyone the same way. Some women may have hot flashes, others insomnia, headaches, bone and muscle weakness, mood swings, etc.
Diet and healthy habits, as well as restful and restorative sleep, are always the best foundation for experiencing menopause positively. In this life stage, a woman’s micronutritional status becomes especially important, not only in terms of vitamins and minerals but also in terms of amino acids and, particularly, omega-6 (GLA) and omega-3.
